The Taylor Ophthalmology Practice
Professor Simon Taylor is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon with an NHS practice based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital. He is the joint Clinical Director of the Department of Ophthalmology and served as Clinical Director for R&D from 2014 to 2017. He is also Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Surrey.
Specialisation
Professor Taylor trained in ophthalmology at Moorfields Eye Hospital. He is a comprehensive ophthalmologist, with a particular interest in the treatment of cataract, glaucoma, retinal disease and intraocular inflammation. He performs small-incision cataract surgery, including the use of multifocal lenses and the correction of astigmatism, and has significant experience in surgery for glaucoma.

Professor Taylor consults privately in Guildford, and is registered with all major insurance companies. Patients in Guildford are seen at the Nuffield Health Guildford Hospital and appointments are available at the following times (other times may be available on request):
- Tuesday (alternate weeks)
- Wednesday mornings
- Friday afternoons and evenings
Some appointment slots on Tuesday and Friday evenings are kept open for emergencies, so last-minute appointments may be available.
